Verizon iPhone 4 Release Date Not Happening, Forget Verizon iPhone 4G

Verizon iPhone Release Date is not happening, so you can forget about there ever being a Verizon iPhone 4G. At least according to an article on The Washington Post. Rob Pegoraro, a technology expert from The Washington Post says that you should never expect there to be a Verizon iPhone.

Apple recently announced the iPhone 4 phone during their annual WWDC, but didn’t say anything about Verizon. AT&T is the only carrier that will be carrying the new Apple iPhone 4, so this year we won’t see any Verizon iPhone.

I don’t see why Apple does not simply launch a iPhone 4G on Verizon, when they know that a lot of people from Verizon would jump on it. Maybe they still have their exclusivity with AT&T which means they can’t offer the iPhone on any other network. Hopefully what Pegoraro said doesn’t turn out to be true, as I really want a Verizon iPhone..

There is a 5-year exclusive agreement, ending in 2012. NO VERIZON IPHONE UNTIL THEN!

The other issue with the iphone and verizon was too strict with regards to issues involving the app store

The consensus is, that they would have to totally redesign the Iphone for it to be compatible with verizon network system. This includes activating the phone (as you do in Itunes) and purchasing applications and so-forth. It would mean a total overhaul of the system. It could and still might be done but not within the window of just one year. Not to mention yeah I think they have that 2012 agreement in place as mentioned earlier.
